2025 Advent Giving
“The Generosity Express” Feeding the hungry is one of the basic missions of the church. We have learned that the problem is often an issue of food distribution as much as availability. This Advent season, we are working with Clackamas Service Center to help get food to those who need it most. Your dollars will help the CSC warehouse with their delivery operation. CSC gathers food donations from farms, grocery stores, the Oregon Food Bank and local food drives as well as individual donations. Their well-equipped warehouse with refrigeration allows them to accept food in bulk. Volunteers and staff sort the food and deliver it to dozens of non-profit organizations, schools, pantries, special events such as Winter Blitz, houseless camp sites, and individual homes and apartments. You can see a list of many of these delivery points on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. It is expensive to rent, staff, and maintain a warehouse, pay utilities, maintain delivery vehicles and pay drivers. Reductions in grants and government programs have put the CSC warehouse and delivery system at risk. We can help get the food to those who are hungry by giving to our “Generosity Express.” Your gifts will be represented on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. Let’s see how many loads of food we can get delivered! |

We Learn Together
We will meet Tuesdays in Advent at 10:30am (hybrid) to study together. The study book is "Fully Human, Fully Divine: An Advent devotional for the Whole Self” by Whitney Simpson” and is an emphasis on embodiment of presence, with our whole selves, right here, right now despite the constant busyness of our lives trying to pull us away. This time together is being offered as a hybrid model – both in person and via Zoom. We will gather at 10:30am each Tuesday; in-person attendees in room 7 in the Education Wing and those joining online will be provided with a Zoom link to be used throughout the season. Please register in advance if you are able by notifying Donna Metcalf. Coordinator: Donna Metcalf |

We Give Together
We have opportunities to share our financial gifts with others. Please give as you are able but remember to first care for yourself and family. The Generosity Express! – Our Christmas Giving will support the Clackamas Service Center Food Hub this year to help get food to those who need it most. The CSC Food Hub is the largest food distributor in Clackamas County supplying food to more than 40 local non-profit organizations as well as its own members. Reductions in grants and government programs have put the CSC warehouse and delivery system at risk. We will support this amazing food distribution source with our Christmas donations, so just mark your giving “Christmas Offering” and watch the Food Trucks move our donations on bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. Let’s support the Food Hub to ensure the food distribution continues to the many people who are so in need of good and healthy food by giving to the “Generosity Express!” |
What should I wear? Just wear what you feel comfortable in. Worship will be the easy part of your day! Children in jammies are encouraged!
You'll be welcomed with a smile and hand shake when you come in, but we won't make you stand up and introduce yourself! If you'd like to know more about the church, fill out the Get Connected insert in the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate.
